The league I am in is a 10-team, PPR keeper league that allows owners to trade draft picks for the nearest draft only. I bought in heavy at the trade deadline last season to make a run, and it left me with a pile of shite this year. Thus, 2014 is going to mostly be about me trying to set myself up for next season.

So right now I have a guy looking to give me Josh Gordon (who will cost a 5th to keep next year) and a 4th rounder for Jennings (who will cost a 15th to keep). With Jennings being an unproven commodity, I'm taking my time getting back to the guy. Any thoughts on Jennings and advice on the present offer? TIA.

There's no way I'm investing in Gordon right now.

No way.

You honesty think he's going to clean his act up (on his own) after five failed drug tests in 3 years plus a DUI?

If he's reinstated in February, that's the time to move. Not now.

Hell no. Jennings has 1 guy behind him...that's it. Jennings put up good numbers in Oakland, aka rantasy hell. The Giants aren't great but they'll be good enough for him to produce. Keep in mind his back up never caught passes in college. You are in a PPR league. You should keep and start Jennings.

Guy has been a backup most of career and will be 30 next year. Not really buying the hype..

That was my original line of thinking as well. I know he's been in Oakland, but wouldn't we have seen it yet? If both Jennings and Gordon crash and burn, I at least have the 4th rounder coming out of it.

I still think I may put it off and wait for other offers on Jennings. The other 9 teams know I'm willing to sell for picks this year, and Jennings should at worst get a high volume of carries.

Actually not a bad thing for an older back. Jennings goes ham this yr. Top 15 back.

So why would you move him? You rebuilding for next year already?

Already playing for 2015, yes. I dug myself in a hole last season trading my 2014 draft, and there's no chance of any gains (monetary or otherwise) this year for me.

No shite. He's only played 4 seasons and has 387 career carries

Dude was a backup most of his career to MJD

Play a handful of games first dude. It's fantasy football... you just never know how things will play out.

That's where I'm leaning. With our scoring, Jennings was essentially a top 5 or 6 back every time he had 10+ carries last season. He's going to get touches this year, so I think his market will rise in our league early (especially being a cheap keeper).

And both are starters now for their respective teams and are the same age.. yet Jennings is coming off the boards at RB18 this year while MJD is going several rounds later at RB30.. just don't really get the hype.. not to mention the woeful Giants offensive line he'll be running behind.

For a standard league, I'm running with Bell instead of Rashad this week. I think the Giants' line vs the Lions' line won't be very pretty, especially Wk1.

1. It's Oakland
2. Jennings has 1600 less touches than MJD

MJD is coming off the board late because he is splitting carries with McFadden.

Jennings doesnt have to be great, he's just going to see the bulk of the carries and will catch some passes. It's not really about his talent

I think Jennings will need to put up low end RB1 numbers for OP to get a better trade offer. If I'm OP and truly playing for next season, I'm making that trade.
