Commissioner just added an extra week to the regular season

Commissioner just added a week to the regular season.
Before the season started the rules clearly stated that the regular season would run from weeks 1-12, and the playoffs from weeks 13-15. I know standard leagues run from weeks 1-13 and 14-16 for the regular and postseason respectively, but our rules were not set out this way to begin the season.
I just received an email that the this week is now the last week of the regular season. In the past, we have always played the regular and post season in the weeks mentioned above. While the change isn't bias, it seems to me like it affects the integrity of the league to change the rules like this as the season is coming to an end.
I've also earned the #1 seed so I would risk losing my first-round bye if I lost this week. In addition, its unfair to those lower seeds who earned a playoff spot and now risk losing it to other teams . Is this something I should protest or does this seem fair to you?

Doesn't appear to be a vote. I never received any e-mail about one and frequently check the league and message board so I would have seen it.
Edit: This is actually total bullshite. He's currently the last team out of the playoffs and if he were to win and have one of 2 other teams lose he would earn a playoff spot....I'm protesting this shite.

The only way this would be acceptable is if this league had been going on for a few years and the rules were always the same. I can see him changing it to be consistent with the previous years if he didn't realize it was set-up wrong. But even then, you have an argument...
