Can an admin explain what happened to the MTGA league thread??

Got an email this morning saying the guy that started the league was banned and we'll be refunded our money by League Safe.
But why was the thread whacked? Any insight would be appreciated because five of us had already paid and would like to know if we're actually going to get our money back or if that dude was actually Morally Bankrupt

Sorry, the message just said that he was an alter and they removed him so he wouldn't collect any more money.
Not sure if they know who he is an alter of, but the email that he sent last night said that his private email was on the league site and he would post his private info to make sure we all got money back. I haven't tried to contact him or League Safe yet, but I paid too.
Keep me updated if you get any other info from League Safe.
Has anyone on the board had experience with getting money back from League Safe? We knew the league was risky, but any info would be appreciated

I don't think posters can PM, at least I don't know how, but I got a PM from an admin on a banner across the top of my home screen after I posted a question to them. I had never seen it before

Jesus. It was clear as day that that league was a recipe for disaster. I really can't believe he got as many as he did to fall for it.

Yeah I guess I was blindly optimistic since the Auction League I joined on here was legit and had fun drafting in it. Oh well, does this mean I've kind of been catfished

FYI gjack and bulldog, I emailed customer service with my transaction ID and conf # requesting a refund because the commissioner cancelled the draft and the league has shut down (did not have a league ID to fill out that field), and just got an email back saying it will be processed by the accounting department and go back to the original payment method.
Just wanted to let yall know to contact them yourself even though the email we got last night said he already contacted the league and we will be refunded. Better to just submit your own request to be sure

I posted to Bilj that I would join another league if he started one up, so I'm open to it if someone gets it together. I'll keep my eye out for anything that gets started
