He's a fragile player for one, and making the switch from lifelong receiver to running back probably isn't that easy

Ty Montgomery went to Stanford. Cordarrelle Patterson went to Junior College.

Also they have this gent named Dalvin Cook, and his backups aren't too shabby either. Patterson isn't an every down tailback.

He's on the Raiders now, FYI. Point still stands for Marshawn and Co.

Too fragile to be running through the LOS into contact. He has to have outside runs with 1 v 1 open field tackling to be successful and not get injured. Hence why he's a good return man. I think he should just focus on returning and come in for the 3 and 4 WR packages to run straight downfield every play and just try to burn his man or stretch the field

I'm not saying he should be a 20 carry guy but 4-5 carries a game seems like a much better use of his talents considering he rarely gets thrown the ball.

He's 6'2" 220 and runs into walls of people for kickoffs all the time

I'm not sure how he's too delicate to play some RB

He has played some RB in Minn. A couple of years ago I remember him routinely getting a handful of carries a game and he was usually very effective running the ball.

Just looking at him, he seems relatively thick for a WR. Is he incapable of pass protection or something? It just seems like an easy way to get the ball in his hands.

Most of those were reverses and jet sweeps IIRC

Probably. He's literally never done it.

No. He lined up in the backfield just like he did on Sun. He would do it a handful of times per game.

ya he has 5 rushing TDs of 30+ yards, all came from traditional RB plays. Usually just little toss sweeps

look em up on youtube, he's got talent as a RB

I'm thinking he must just have issues with pass protection or running routes out of the backfield. When he lines up in the backfield, he usually gets the handoff or they use him as a decoy for play action.
