12-team league, non-PPR. I picked up Brady in the 11th round of the draft, before his suspension was overturned. Also have Romo. I've been trying to trade Brady/Romo + Anquan Boldin for a low WR1 / high WR2 (e.g., TY Hilton, Randall Cobb, Mike Evans). I'm happy with either QB, so I don't mind parting with either one. OBJ is my WR1, but I'm trying to upgrade the WR2. The teams I'm trying to trade with have bad QBs (Newton, Tannehill), and WRs to spare. Seems like a win-win trade to me, but they won't bite.

Frustrating.

The end.

the QB upgrade is almost negligible. no one in their right mind would give up a WR1/WR2 for something that isnt improving their team. Boldin as a throw in? lol

Romo, Tannehill, and Brady all scored within less than 1 point per game of each other last season

Newton was a top 6 QB 3 of his 4 years in the league

Look at the trade from both sides

If I were the Tannehill owner, I'd laugh at that trade.

If I were the Newton owner, I'd chuckle and ask for someone way better than Boldin (at least high upside rookie).

Well, three replies and I realize the problem with the trade: me.

Thanks guys.

In a 12-team league, I figured Boldin for a low WR2 / high WR3 (around WR22-26 or so) and Romo/Brady as a considerable upgrade over Tannehill or Newton. Guess I was wrong.

Where do you rank Boldin? For me, he's a low WR2 / high WR3 in a 12-team league. More than a throw-in IMO.

I disagree. I think Brady and Romo will be considerably better than Newton or Tannehill.

Out of curiosity, who would you consider a fair WR to get in a 1-for-1 trade for Brady or Romo?

No one drafts Boldin to be a starter in leagues w 12 people or less. He's that safety blanket to plug in when needed. He's just not upgrading anyone's top two WRs unless someone really screwed up their draft

Obviously you do. What's convincing the other owners, though?

In my leagues last season, Brady averaged 21.57, Romo 20.94, Tannehill 20.91. Hard to convince that owner of a considerable upgrade. And like I said, Newton finished top 6 every year but last year, when he was hurt.

There are too many variables. It's hard to upgrade anyone's QB in a 12 team league unless it's Rodgers or Luck, Brees and Manning to a lesser extent.

If you're lucky, maybe a Torrey Smith, Eric Decker, Colston on the high end. On the low end, maybe settling for a Stevie Johnson, Allen Hurns, Marcus Wheaton type

That's my problem. Boldin ended up as my second best WR .

I'm not trying to upgrade their WRs. I'm trying to partially offset the loss of their WR2. The part of the trade that would be upgrading their lineup would be Brady/Romo (at least, IMO).

Obviously, that trade isn't going to work, though. My best hope will be some good performances from Brady and Romo and an injury to another team's QB.

And if Decker's the best I can get in a trade, I'd rather just hold on to both QBs for now.

Newton, yes. Tannehill, I disagree.

Boldin is an unclaimed FA on the waiver wire in every 12 team league I'm in. If you offered me that I'd be insulted.

Damn. Those leagues suck. Barring injury, Boldin will be a WR3 in 12-team leagues. Maybe a 2, at worst a 4. I mean, he was the #22 WR in standard leagues last year (making him a WR2 in 12-team leagues). The 49ers will be playing a lot of games from behind, and they don't exactly have a lot of weapons at WR.
