i see a lot of schaub/johnson.

lets say 12 person league, you draft middle or late round where drafting johnson wouldnt be a terrible decision. if you grab schaub when it comes back to you in the second, youd be throwing away a pick.

so this is when it gets tricky, do you forgo the plan and draft an elite qb (if available) or do you go for a pretty good rb (assuming the top 5-7 are taken) and hope schaub is still there in the 3rd?

eta; not a lot of drees/colston talk. i know he spreads it out, but colston has had 1000yrd seasons every year except 08 when he was hurt

I'd either go

I'd either go with Johnson, Megatron, or Wayne. If you take Andre then I think Schaub would sill be available in the 3rd unless someone just wants to block out you for the combo. Taking Megatron almost locks you into being able to select Stafford late in the draft. An taking Wayne is always a good choice...except it's rare to get him+Peyton.

I think its because Andre Johnson is a beast and if I had to pick a combo, I would take him and Schaub.

I think, if you are drafting with a bunch of people who know fantasy football, Schaub is available until Round 3. Take Johnson in first round, nab another elite WR, if available. This is based on drafting late in first round since you will have another pick coming up really fast and then saving round 3 for Schaub.

Why? Because Schaub will get you pts, this is true, but there are going to be a higher amount of WR or RB that can make as many pts in round 2 while still giving you the option to nab him late in rd 3

I realized that too. I had Colston in 08, fwiw. I also had Meachem last season and he hooked me up during my starters bye weeks, Thanks to his 45 yd TD catch against Arizona lol

If I get the chance to take Colston and Brees, you can book it! I would love to have them both!

im thinking this as well. brees is fantasy gold, always. depending on where you draft, you could get colston in the 3rd.

did no one have schaub last year? he was terrible. im a little worried to rely on him again.

Someone drafted him in my league and it ended up killing them...oh wait, it was me! lol

Thank god I beat the rest to the waiver wire and picked up Vick for the rest of the season.

I still think Vick will be taken in top 5 picks this year which will free up another Elite QB and WR for the PPR leagues. Welker might climb as well.

This season's drafts will be awesome! Lots of things will be shocking in 2011 for NFL fantasy football.

My league(not a PPR) top five picks are going to be Vick, Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees. For some reason they always take a QB in RD 1.

In a non PPR league, Vick is fantasy gold and should be the top pick. As for Brady, Manning, Rogers, and Brees as the next four, I am not too sure about that.

Philip Rivers never gets any love but the dude should be top 3 in your league. Especially since he would be playing Detroit, Oakland, and Buffalo in 3 of the final 4 weeks of the season.

Your top five should have all 3 of these guys too.

Arian Foster, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson...

The people in my league will not draft anything but QB's in Rd 1. Whereas, I tend to load on RB/WR's and take a 4-5th rd QB. Rivers lead me to a championship last year. Had to sit him for the actual game, but up until then he was gold.

I'm thinking 1st 3Rd's for my team to be: Peterson, McCoy/Megatron(depending on what they're drafting). If there is a good QB available in RD 4 I'll take him. If not I'll sit an take Stafford as late as possible.

I do the same. 3-4 QBs normally go in the 1st round now in my league, but I've been in drafts before where the first 24 picks were RBs.

Trick plays

His athleticism is probably good for a reception this year.

I'm certain I get my pick between Foster, Peterson, Johnson. So my problem is going to be do I go back and take another solid RB, or do I take the best WR. I'm leaning towards WR because there is a higher drop off rate between the elite and the good. Whereas, the RB's are pretty even.

I did that too. I won two of my leagues last year thanks to Vick but I drafted Stafford in 2010 and 2009. Bastard got hurt both times.

So, in a PPR, qb's shouldnt go until 2nd round at best. In non PPR, it depends on the scoring.

You'll be upset when he throws 4,000 yards this year. Whoever gets Stafford/Megatron combo is loaded.
