Top 6 scores get a W for the week, Bottom 6 get L's..... until the playoffs then seeded according to point total then it becomes Win/Loss

I like it because every year it seems I'm a top 3 scoring team and fighting to make the playoffs. This year is the worst, 100$ league, i'm leading the second place guy by 70 in points Scored but i'll be 4-5 after this week. Obviously fighting for the playoffs even though i've been the most consistent at scoring.

Why change it up in the playoffs?

I don't like it. The fun of fantasy football are the matchups and the luck. Even in sports the team that is "supposed" to win doesn't always.

I have in years past overcome the head to head format. Even though the odds seem to continuously stack against my roster every single season.

I have always been a top 2-3 scoring team pitted against the top 2-3 scoring allowed over the course of the season.

This year has been no different except the losses are piling up. I have a bonafide playoff team and I am currently out of the playoffs.

If ever there was a year to make me really consider a format switch this has been the one.

I see scoring suckfests every week where some teams are getting W's with 90 points vs me collecting L's in 120-140 shootouts.

Nope.

Give me head to head every day of the week. That's the fun of fantasy, I can't stand the babies who cry about scoring most points.

Fantasy is all luck. High/Low puts more skill into the equation

I can't express how much I hate this argument.

The top half-bottom half is a popular idea around here. I tried to sell it to my league this offseason, but nobody went for it. Most people just didn't want to change and refused to even discuss. The one person who argued said that it is too complicated to keep up with.

Pretty lame imo.

The guy is a dumbass and was just searching for a reason to disagree with me. He's a chronic dumbass, liar, and complainer whenever things happen to not work out for him. This is what happens when you try to have a logical discussion with idiots.

The 49ers out scored the the Panthers and still lost while the Panthers won. It's football, it happens. Some games are shootouts, some low scoring. The top 6 winning idea is just ludicrous to me and something I personally would never be a part of.

This will be the 4th of the last 5 years that ive lead my league in scoring. assuming luck doesn't go my way this year again, i will have 1 championship to show for it.

That being said, doing the top teams get wins every week just seems boring and pointless.
It's fun to beat your friend 1 on 1, even if it's mostly luck.

Im in a dynasty where its a play all..you can be high score on the week and go 11-0.
I prefer the shite talking of the head to head format even though you sometime get an unlucky draw

Sounds like a lot of butthurt. Ive been playing fantasy for 12 years and 1 of the top 3-4 managers wins it every year. A good manager can overcome a horrible PA. Suck it up and keep making moves/waiver acquisitions and you'll be in that top tier. Usually the person bitching about their points against is the guy who had a good draft but didn't make the moves required to win.

i play in the type of league the OP describes. There is more drama in this league then in H2H. You're playing against a whole league, not just 1 person. And as the games dwindle, the suspense rises for those last few spots.

Ive played fantasy football for nearly 20 years. It is by far the best, most fun league I have been a part of. Read again: By far.

I forgot. This was the other argument that one other guy made. Not playing head to head isn't like real football. I hate to break it to you, but it isn't real football in the first place. It is a completely separate made up game that is based off of what is happening in real life. This game is different and made with its own set of rules that are entirely separate from the real game of football. I don't know why you feel like you have to settle with not trying to make it as fair and skill based as possible. There are no inherent restraints saying it has to be as superficially like real football as possible.

In real football, the saints and 49ers had a defense and actually can influence their opponent. IT makes sense that their offensive production be matched next to each other. In fantasy, two teams are just arbitrarily put next to each other, and that is called a match.

This isn't football. It's a game all its own.

That retort does not follow and makes no sense. Try to articulate an actual argument next time.
