unless you plan on Grant receiving some of those TDs, I'd go with Pierre

I understand what you're saying, but you're not playing to win this week. I want Rodgers to do well, but more importantly, I want the Saints to win.

His strategy really isnt all that bad. The packers are coming off a superbowl hangover and their o could take a little while to get rolling. Plus they have a tough matchup and you know the Saints d has been game planning for this. Stafford is coming out with something to prove and going against Tampa.

I should add I'm one of the players in pnut's league

I never draft defenses, just pick up week to week with matchups

I normally do that, however, I thought Saints defense would be a Top 10 this season.... I liked the defensive line and secondary... Plus they were one of my last 5 picks

I just do not like this strategy. I am sure your sixth string RB is so much better than my quality defense that I drafted in like round 13.

Last year it worked great for me, I picked any defense that played certain teams that ranked in bottom on NFL. On;y issue was when someone grabbed a defense I wanted and I became stuck.

Also, you run into the problem of other people who follow that strategy and everyone rushes to grab the teams who play the Bengals, Panthers, etc. Sometimes there are not good matchups to go around. I am by no means advocating drafting Green Bay defense in the 9th, but if it is your fifth string RB who may not see your roster past week 2 or your quality defense that will likely start all year, then I will take the small improvement in defense over an RB 6.

Outside of top 5 defenses really they are all interchangeable. Maybe you can say that for Top 10, however I may take a chance on a team that has a shitty record but defenses forces turnovers and they have a great matchup. After week 8 the strategy works great as that is when people have given up on teams.

My 6th string RB this year happened to be Tate so it may end up working out big time. Matchups have treated me very well for the past 4 years.

Yea I can't bring myself to drafting a defense, then being stuck in starting them the whole year, even when they play teams like New Orleans/GB/NE ect...

I may regret it later tonight, but I have the GB D playing.

Also have G. Jennings and PT playing right now.

I normally just use my last pick on a defense, but like I said. I thought Saints defense was going to improve. Like make a jump near the Top 10 of NFL, maybe that was my B&G glasses talking... I drafted them late and maybe missed out on another low level RB/WR

This year, I liked nine defenses to a varying degree. I know the point differential is not huge, but I will take those extras two points a week any day. It is worth passing up on a permanent bench player for a starter that will likely make a small difference over the course of the season.

I try and draft late for potential players who may blow up, get PT from injuries, etc... That way I can trade later if someone suffers an injury. Worked well for me in past

I still want shitty running backs on my bench like you do. I am just willing to draft those guys in the 14th, instead of the 13th.
