Carbon emissions at coal plants are down like 90% over the past decade. Things are improving. We don't have to continue regulating cheap, reliable power out of existence just to appease a bunch of lefties. The coal-based power industry is cleaner than its ever been, and natural gas will continue to be embraced as well.

A computer controlled truck that could safely do what he's saying would realistically cost a company $5 million

Then they need to pay more.

agreed and most would love to pay their drivers more and have more equipment

however the market keeps increasing its demand every year, the government keeps adding regulations every year, its a catch 22.

Cut back on the regulations which will help put more money into the trucking companies to be able to pay drivers and do more maintenance

Driving school is terribly easy. These guys come out completely unqualified to drive 45 tons of truck down the road

Automation is always cheaper than human labor in the long run.

we ship stuff over the rail all the time. Shippers would probably prefer rail since its much cheaper.

However, in the chemical industry, customers put orders in with 3-5 day lead time.

i see your point however i dont think you know how the industry works
