This will be a tough one to accomplish. He is telling people to vote to make themselves poorer and less powerful. If he can get a vast majority of the public on board and make this a major issue, then MAYBE it can happen.

I believe he has to get Congress & the House to approve this.

I think he has accomplished this.

It will take a national referendum. Congress will never vote to impose term limits on themselves.

Do it in stages:

1. Age limit of 74 to run for Senate; 78 to run for house.

2. 18 years limit (3 senate terms or 9 house terms)

Grandfather those already serving but still force retirement at 80 (end of term).

It will take a Constitutional Amendment which will take many years to enact. But we have to get the process started as we certainly need this.

He has to structure it correctly. You can't just say 6 terms for house and 2 terms for sente and make it retroactive. Like 75% would be out next election. It would have to be if you are in the house and have already been elected 6 times then you get 2 more if you want them then you are term limited. If you already have 2 in the senate then you get 1 more. This would mean that they can vote on it now without it directly affecting them now. I also think you would have to make it a constitutional amendment. If it was just a law then it could be overturned at any time.

That's why I suggested grandfathering those already in but force retirement age of no older than 80 at end of term.
