Most of the border is completely impassible on foot because of the terrain. The wall wouldn't have to be on 2/3rds of the border

Keep birthright citizenship, but take away the anchor baby aspect. If you are born here illegally then you will be deported, but on your 18th birthday will have the chance to obtain citizenship if you so desire.

Necessary... not sure. Probably ought to check with someone that built one on their southern border to see if they would do it again. Mexico has one, maybe ask them??

Damn this gets asked a lot. I wished he used the word barrier cause thats what it will be and the barrier will consist of not just ways to impede illegals but also legislation.

Stopping/slowing down illegals from all quarters is not just a matter of bricks but a whole list of things that can be built and done.

Yes! Unless you secure the border, they will just keep crossing it. Just putting more agents on the border won't help because the next admin can just as easily cut their budget and we are back to square one. An actual physical border mandates that future admins keep up with it, keep it funded and takes away their ability to just ignore the issue.

A wall would be good if only to funnel illegals into specific areas to be caught and returned.

Enforcement of immigration laws is as important if not more so since they have been laxly enforced for 8 years if not longer.

Exactly. Take away the carrot that lures them over the border in the first place.

Yes and no.

I'd be fine with a virtual wall to start. If that doesn't work, wall 'em off.

Stop giving illegals welfare, free school. free medical care etc and they will stop coming.

That would take the Supreme Court to reverse their stance - a majority stance even with past Conserv justices.

The Nation doesn't see a benefit in having dumbos running around.

If they're already here and the government lacks the resources and resolve to deport - might as well educate them to be productive and can't deny health care on humane reasons.

Welfare is a different animal.

The first and best steps are stopping anchor babies then place a 100k fine to business for hiring one. Each and every one.

That's a start. Neal Boortz laid out a phenomenal plan for dealing with companies that hire illegals, back when he was still on the radio. I wish I could find it.

I think he will build a wall (though it may be more of a fence).

Only if it's accompanied by a moat.
