"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."
Romans 13:1

So the Founding Fathers were sinners in rebellion?

a) this is whackable.
b) Romans 13:1 has been bastardized and misconstrued to shite.
c) I reject your implication, whatever it may be.
eta : and
see a) - c) except insert the gospel verse where Romans one is.

Um, your Christian brothers should've already known that.

So if Hillary wins God wanted her to?
Posted on 11/8/16 at 7:29 am to bulldogger
Yes, I believe that they probably were. Although, that is between them and God. The true motivation for the american revolution, in my opinion, wasn't freedom. It was the usual motive...money.

Read the part about following them until they start with the UnGodly things and then follow God.

Should we obey governments that are bad?
Romans 13:1 says, "Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God." If this is so, what about the bad governments like the Nazis or the communist regimes where they killed millions? If God is the one who sets up governments, are we supposed to obey those bad governments?
The answer is no.
We are to obey governments unless they violate Scripture. Acts 5:29 says, "We must obey God rather than men." Whenever a government violates biblical teaching, Christians are obligated to disobey that government. For example, if a government were to declare that we should kill all Asians, or immigrants, or people with Down's syndrome, we should disobey. Governments are run by people and often become corrupt. Furthermore, the Bible never tells us to obey governments in contradiction to the revealed word of God.

Sure. See the Jewish exile. God has a purpose in everything he does and works good through all things. With that said, I hope Trump wins.

Too simplistic. But yes, $$ was and always is a factor.

It's hard to peg this to be honest. Taxation without representation is just plain wrong. And that's what lead to major changes. All England needed was to allow the Colonies to have a voice...

So by that logic would all of those who support trump then need to support her as it was gods will? I'm not trying to stir the pot I didn't vote for her I just want to know if these fellow Christians will support a candidate they don't believe in even if it's gods will and if they will put their faith in his wisdom or find a reason to oppose her and come up with a reason why God chose her as a test of faith or some other reason

So....Hitler? Stalin? Mao?

He would allow her to become president, because of the wickedress in hearts of his people.

No. I don't think that's the purpose of the verse. You can follow the laws of your country without supporting the leaders. I will never support her, but I will continue to obey the laws of my country and pay my taxes, but only to the extent that they do not interfere with the natural law established by God. I don't believe in moral relativism.

Yes, I lot of evil was committed by them, but a lot of good came out of the wars fought because of them. You really get to see who is real and who is fake when things get tough. I don't always know God's will in everything. There have been worse people throughout history too.
