Durhamn is 70% Democrat, the most heavily Democrat area in the entire state of North Carolina.

At the behest of the NAACP they randomly just decided to purpose extending their voting hours an extra hour and a half tonight.

The state board of elections (Republican controlled) will ultimately get to decide though.

They are obviously going to say LOL NO and the media will go with their "OMG SUPPRESSION OF BLACK VOTES!" narrative.

Why would they say no, unless they don't want people to vote?

because you can't allow 1 city to have an extra 90 minutes when the rest of the state doesn't.

The poll closing time is the law, you can't just randomly ignore it.

I know that's shocking news to Hillary supporters.

It's set by state statute. Why bend to the will of the NAACP to give their candidate of choice an advantage? How is that fair?

It's a charade. They know it will be denied. They want something to complain about.

They will have people in there filling out blank ballots as fast as they can. Why can black people not just do what the rest of the fricking country does and follow the goddamn rules? Their voting machines frick up all the time, they bus people in to vote. You know guys, if you want to impress us and make us think you actually matter, try keeping up with the rest of the fricking world for a change.

Because state law says that every single precinct in a voting district has to have delays for an extension of voting hours to be approved. I don't see why they would need an extra 90 minutes of voting time anyway simply because they had to switch to paper voting rolls. It has never taken a poll worker more than 20 seconds to find my name in the paper voting roll and I've voted in multiple cities in Louisiana and Kentucky.

SO they want to be open once Fl and the rest of the state is decided just to IDK verify no one forgot to vote, or a few bus loads of people from some churches can make it after having engine trouble.

N.C. county requests voting hours extension The Durham County Board of Elections requested from North Carolina Tuesday that voting be extended in the county by 90 minutes. The unanimous recommendation, which was sent to the state Board of Elections at 1:30 p.m. ET, came after a glitch in the electronic voter check-in system required a switch to paper roll books, Durham County Board of Elections spokesperson Briana Khan told CNN.

By state rules, all voting locations in the county have to be affected for an extension of voting hours. The county has brought in 60 additional staff to work on providing more data to the state on how much the voting has been affected, Khan said.

At least five precincts in North Carolina had to switch to paper poll books earlier in the day. The move came "out of an abundance of caution," according to Patrick Gannon, spokesman for the North Carolina State Board of Elections The "glitches" in the check-in software forced the precincts to switch to paper poll books to check-in voters, but no votes cast will be affected, Gannon said.

The error, however, did cause longer-than-expected wait times at the polling locations, according to the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP. "Number one: We demand that they fix this glitch," Rev. Dr. William Barber, president of North Carolina NAACP, said in a statement obtained by CNN.

"There were no glitches in early voting. Why now and why in a heavy black voting area?" Thirty-seven percent of registered voters in Durham County are black.

According to Khan, the state board of elections is helping the county officials print extra poll books and get them to the affected precincts. Gov. Pat McCrory, who is running for re-election Tuesday, told CNN that he had spoken to election officials and that they had it under control.

"I want the votes counted as quick as they can in all counties in North Carolina," McCrory said. "I just talked to the elections board supervisor and said that I want every vote to count, and every vote will count." "We have our lawyers going to locations," Barber said.

"They also must encourage people not to leave because the problem is with system not the people."

They should say no.

There are rules. This isn't 'Nam.

Actually, the only time to vote should be within the 24 hour window of today.

No early voting or mail ins.

One day. 24 hrs.
