Enjoy it while you can, come January 20th law and order is restored in this country. Can't wait to see all of you who destroy property, block roads and harass good law abiding citizens to be put in jail where you deserve.

If nothing else the eradication of your safe spaces and your sanctuary cities was reason enough to vote for Trump and celebrate a Trump victory!

Agreed.

I suspect massive protests around his inauguration. Hopefully the Secret Service forces D.C. To deny permits.

No but one would hope that local officials would hold these protests accountable. Your protest rights are not allowed to interfere with my rights as an American citizen. So if you don't have a permit, are blocking roads, causing property damage and endangering people you belong in one place, jail.

The justice department encourages these protests, I'm pretty sure a Trump justice department will not. Most police departments would end these protests quickly except they are scared of Obama's justice department, that ends in 71 days.

Nope. Round them up and deport them, even the white hippies. Canada will take 'em.

The president can set the tone about what should be done to quell violent protests.

No it's not, a permit is needed to keep law and order in the city. It's to ensure the protest is legitimate (not just some group wanting to make trouble) and to make sure the resources are there to protect both the protest group and other citizens. Again, do they have the right to protest? Sure. Does their protest have the right to threaten me and impact my life? No. That's what they don't seem to understand.

Blocking streets and breaking into businesses is not protesting, it's breaking the law. Simple as that.

So their right to their petulant, adolescent speech supersedes my right to not get caught up in it unexpectedly? They can protest, I want notification so I can avoid their tantrums and not delay me on my way to tend to real responsibilities.

You don't need a permit to demonstrate/protest. But, when you block traffic and inhibit people's freedom of movement then you can be arrested. If you can't do the time don't do the crime.

And that right to protest ends the minute they try to interfere with my ability to live my life. Do they have the right to protest with advance notice and a permit? Sure. Do they have the right to blocks roads and threaten people? No.

That's not hard to understand.

I suspect guidance from Trump's DOJ that no investigations or prosecutions arising from local LEOs dealing with protesters will take care of it.

They can be idiots as long as they keep it peaceful. The second the first window breaks then grind then under our boot heels like the cockroaches they are.

But the new DOJ leadership can tell local law enforcement that they're not going to be under DOJ scrutiny for legal tactics used for breaking up riots or cracking down on those who are destroying shite.
