Mossberg Shockwave

Anyone have one? Anyone in the BR area carrying it? I assume it's legal in Louisiana... looks like Texas says "no way", and I see that Bud's also won't ship to Ohio, in addition to the usual no-go areas.
I just watched the Hickok45 review, and it seems like it's a great deal, especially for the price. Not that I really need one, but... after viewing it, I kinda do

More on this; I'm surprised not to hear anything about this gun by now.
Here is the picture
here is Mossberg's stated description, including the statement that it does not require any additional stamps
Here is the link to the ATF letter
LINK
Per the description, it is NOT an NFA weapon, because the manufacturer (Mossberg) never put a shoulder stock on it. Thus, it escapes the "shotgun" definition per letter of the law.
It has a 14 inch barrel, and the total length is slightly longer than 26 inches, and thus it qualifies as a "firearm" with a pistol grip.
There are several online vendors selling them, and the going price is $400.
As I said, I watched Hickok45's review, and he was able to use it quite effectively. He even hit the gong with slugs
This thing looks like the ultimate HD gun.

quote:
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives has confirmed the 590 Shockwave as a “firearm” per the Gun Control Act (GCA), but not a Class 3/NFA firearm.
NOTE: This letter only speaks to its FEDERAL status. There could be local/state laws that prohibit the sale of this gun in your state. Consult your State Police for clarification. Just as with any other pistol grip firearm, the buyer must be 21 years of age, and be a resident of the state where s/he is purchasing it.

Haven't shot the Mossberg but I played around with my buddy's 870 with a bird's head grip and it wasn't fun to shoot. Understandably sharp recoil and roughed up my finger on the trigger guard.
If you were willing to go NFA and pay for a stamp, an SBS with proper stock would make more sense or an AOW if you are looking for a novelty piece.
