Is the customization better than 2?

Is anyone using wheel/stick/pedals with force feedback? I'm looking to purchase something.
Thrustmasters top of the line?

Where would Gran Turismo 3 stack up? I wasted a lot of hours in high school playing that game.

i swear there was a thread on here last week, where you said Forza wasn't nearly as good as GT.

I picked it up earlier today and am having a blast. Driving across the Outback in a Mercedes at sunset is breathtaking in this game.

Thrustmasters and Logitech have the best products. Gotta be willing to shell out around $300 for a great product. If you play a lot of racing games it really is worth the cost. The bargain ones just aren't worth it and break often.

Yeah I don't mind. $300 for anything nice is child's play. Especially if it's $300 for wheel/sticks/pedals.
The number of options is overwhelming.

I probably said something more like I don't enjoy the main Forza series as much as Gran Turismo. The OP asked if he should play Forza or wait for GT. I said that I can't give a recommendation without knowing which Forza the OP is talking about as GT is apples and oranges with Horizon.
Horizon has much more in common with Burnout Paradise, The Crew, and Test Drive Unlimited

One thing to look for is the turn radius of the wheel. Most of the more expensive models don't have this problem, but look for a radius of 900-1080 degrees. Anything under 800 degrees is really twitchy, unrealistic, and annoying to play with. ***edit unless you like drifting in which case 720 is optimal.
Also, metal pedals are the way to go.
Shifters can be fun, though most packages sell them seperatly. I like the the action of shift paddles on the back of the wheel instead of a knob, it makes the games easier, but the knob makes it all just feel right...which is kind of the point.

For anyone noob at forza...even if you are playing with a controller..make sure to use manual shifting.
You go so much faster.
And it's just a lot more fun
