Question for OT insurance agents/adjusters. Comprehensive claim

99.99% sure this is a comprehensive vs a collision claim, but just wanted to check and make sure first.
Was traveling down the interstate when an 18 wheeler in front of me blew a tire. I couldn't safely avoid it as I had traffic in the lane beside me so i avoided it the best I could I and clipped it, resulting in the tread ripping part of my lower lip off, the plastic undercarriage, and tearing the holes where the lip bolts into the lower bumper. No other damage that I can see, and I ended up having to cut part of the plastic in the wheel well due to it rubbing against the tire now since it's nowhere for it to clip into the bumper. This is going to be a comprehensive claim right? I've never had to file an at fault accident before and never had to deal with a comprehensive claim ever so I just want to make sure.
Also, is this going to raise my premium? I've never been at fault in an accident before, and my only other insurance claim with my insurer came when an illegal immigrant ran a stop sign and t boned me 8 years ago, and I had to file it as an uninsured motorist claim.
This happened in MS if that makes a difference either. I know no one can answer the premium question definitively but what's your best guess as to whether or not it will rise?

Depends on your policy language and your company's procedures. Under my company's policy, it would be considered a collision claim as it was struck on the lower half of the vehicle.

This will again depend on your company's policies.

I'm a claims adjuster for a company in Georgia. Sort of the equivalent of MS farm bureau.

It's not Snake Farm

Thanks man. Appreciate it! I'll go up there tomorrow and ask my agent. I hope it's comprehensive as that deductible is only 250 as compared to the 500' for collision.

No problem.
It never hurts to call your agent and just ask as every company is different.
