Sure would love to know. How can one just drop out of the spotlight since the 70s in this day and age? Nobody seems to have any info.

I think she married Jim Stafford, and retired.

Best version...of course, she did write it.
I know. But many people only recognize Reba for it now. Bobbie's voice was unique. And she wrote many of her songs, including the Ode to Billie Joe and Fancy.

Yes, and they got divorced. But how can one stay out of the spotlight so long? From what I've read elsewhere, she hasn't given an interview since the early 80s and you can't find any pics of her post the early 80s anywhere. She has virtually disappeared.

Let me know if you find out Something.
"Ode To Billie Joe" was a Huge Phenomenom in the Summer, '67.

I've searched and searched and can't find anything. But would love to know as well. And it appears taht Billie Joe was supposed to just be a "B-side," but that DJ's flipped to play it instead of the A-side. And it simply caught fire.

She did remarry and is now living in LA.

Saw her perform at an Astros game in the Astrodome way back. The dome was still relatively new and there were a lot of performers added to the menu to make each game more of an event. Any oldsters remember when the guys came out in space suits to rake the infield at the 7th inning stretch?

For whatever reason, she never came out of retirement. Her prerogative, I respect her for that. Maybe she had her fill of the music industry, and maybe she had nothing else to say. But that one song will always be legendary, in fact, just heard it a couple of days ago on XM, still sounds great. And last, but not least, what a beautiful woman from Mississippi!
