Used to see them every morning around Greer, TX. back in the 60's. Older children killed them so us young ones could go to the out house safely.

We see them all the time down at our place in south Texas, pretty sure we have a few different species of tarantula too.

The species I saw was of the "big" variety, or it could have been that I was small.

Awww MAN!

Tarantulas kill the shite out of cockroaches. They don't bite people unless you really frick with them. Heck, you can pick 'em up and let 'em walk across your hand no problem.

Why kill something in its natural environment that will never hurt you?

Silly and wasteful.
