Which season looks more bleak this year?

And if you were a GM which franchise would be easier to re-build?

Is this a serious question?

Astros are far worse.

Yankees are far easier to rebuild.

Stupid thread.

Yankees will get Tex, Jeter, and Granderson back next month.... they alone improves team by 100%

Yankees also have more money to spend (despite them reducing payroll) and they will spend it when needed.

Dumb question

1. Yankees. The Astros weren't going to be competitive anyway and at least they don't have eleventy billion tied up in players on the DL. There's no guarantee that Jeter or Rivera can come back effectively at their ages, and A-Rod may never play again period. Teixeira isn't a spring chicken either.
2. Astros. They can do several things this season:
a) Find out who on their roster has MLB talent and who doesn't.
b) Grab tons of cheap waiver claims and cheap unclaimed free agent signings (Brian Wilson can use work right now) and, if they pan out, flip them for prospects to re-stock the farm system.

The Astros fans expect nothing so anything will be OK. Yankees fans are all spoiled and when they flounder no one will go and they will fire Gerardi. Their players are as old as me.

Relative to fan expectations you could make an argument that it is the Yankees, but even then, you can't make strong assumptions based on 2 games. If they wanted, the Yankees could turn over almost their entire roster during the season.

Yes.

Yankees are stuck with a bunch of shite contracts for old players. Astros have jack shite committed long term. Astros are easier to rebuild. Yankees have it easier if you want to throw money at a problem.

I'm from DFW and follow the Rangers. Don't care about the Astros all that much. But they don't have eleventy billion tied up in long-term deals with aging players.

I believe that's their motto. I think it's hanging above their logo in the front office.
