No...there is no need for a separate basketball board.
There IS a need for people to just stay out of a thread if the topic isn't of interest to them.
I liken it to a situation where a group of people at a party are talking about a subject...and then an outsider walks up to the group and proclaims "I really don't care what you are talking about". Everybody's reaction would basically be

I don't play video games. It would be the equivalent of me posting in threads on the Gaming Board to say that I don't care about the game they are playing.
