Just got out. And although I might be a little more forgiving than you, as I did really enjoy my time with the movie, they missed so much that the whole impact was blunted. It felt like half a movie.....from the book perspective.

I get it, but I liked the kids, the setting, direction, tone, Pennywise...all of that. But it just missed that comparison of kids vs. Mythic Nether Beast that really drives the book as you find out more. There's something in that story that put these kids and scared, forgetful adults vs. this thing completely out of their realm.

This felt more like Kids vs. Dracula (who is not nearly as "powerful" as It). And that's ok I guess, but it just wasn't the same.

As a film, it was super fun, solid A. As an adaptation...eh, not so good.
