Canada tells "O" last week, we need to simplify; what was the question? Why the hell can't we block? How could Syr, get a safety? So what does Canada's response really mean? LSU linemen have been taught how to SHIFT around, one, two, three times, pre-snap, BUT HAVEN'T BEEN TAUGHT JUST TO BLOCK LIKE HELL TO WIN the battle at the line of scrimmage. It takes a lot of focus, even for a split-end, to shift without getting a penalty. Imagine how much focus it takes for a lineman. Look for a simplified offense with very few, if any, O-lineman shifts, which will help against Troy, but it may be too late to help against SEC defenses.

I swear we must have the dumbest players on earth since I have heard this simplify the offense chit for years now going back to Miles/Cameron. And if you have to simplify Miles offense you should not be in college

Canada himself said at a Coaches Clinic over the spring that this is the Simplest Offense in the country. So just how much can this offense get even more simple?

Why would the two things be mutually exclusive?

It has nothing to do with that. The linemen have plenty of time to think about their job when they shift. The complexity comes from reading defenses and changing assigments in a split second because of the defensive alignments.

This can be very difficult as opposed to simple zone blocking.

Most of the time, the LSU guys are running around shifting while the defense doesn't react at all.

Here’s the link if you think I’m dense

“Our offense,” LSU’s new offensive coordinator said, “is the easiest in America.” For an hour Thursday night at LSU’s high school coaches clinic,

quote:

“Obviously, we build and add this and this and this,” Canada said. “Our offense is a solid foundation of these core plays, these core concepts and then we add and go from there.”

In fairness Cameron was talking about simplifying offense for QB. Coach O talking about simplifying for O line and receivers. Less shifts and and motions gives them focus (I hope)

Do you think secondaries are the only ones that disguise defenses? Linemen need just as much time to look over the front seven as the other players need to look over schemes.
