Don't play if you don't want to get hurt. Pretty simple concept.

Sapps brain was already damaged before his career began. Invalid data

I agree with that now, but the guys who played when Sapp did had no ideas of the dangers.

Kinda like "don't get married if you don't want to get divorced"?

Bull shite they didn't.

They were constantly lying to medical staff to stay on the field, and were always talking about how violent of a sport it is/was. What did they think was going to happen?

Common sense says that playing in the NFL will cause long term negative effects.

Forget the hooker scandal. Not that long ago he owed several million in back child support to multiple mothers of his many kids, as in plus 7-8.

No idea was poor phrasing, but they definitely didn't know the extent of it. I'm sure most, if not all of them would have still played, but to say we haven't become way more knowledgeable on the subject is absurd.

The NFL will be around. There's waaaay to much money invested, and it's still an out for the athletes in certain communities. They talk about numbers being down, but in Louisiana the numbers are higher than ever in youth football. As the rugby style tackling is taught at younger and younger ages concussions will decrease. The benefits to cost ratio for some poor kid who has the skills to get paid millions will always be there. 20 years isn't that far in the future.
