As some of you may know, I am a photographer. The "bible" for photographers is a book called "Understanding Exposure".
What is the Bible for wine? One that considers characteristics, tasting for beginners, and maybe ratings (although I expect that to have its own book).
Just starting to get into wine, and would like to learn a bit more.
Thanks!

there are hundreds of books that could be a 'wine bible', loaded with more information than any normal person could ever need/want ... you don't need a bible ... learn about different varietals, buy them & drink them ... however, if you really, really want something written to read, get this ...
tons of information on every region of wine ...

It truly is a stellar resource. I have a copy and have learned a lot by reading it, even after being a wino for a while.

Wine and War
Plenty of great ones out there to learn and of course the Internet and buying and drinking and talking to people and just developing your own taste.
But a great book or I preferred audiobook is linked above about how the French hid and used their wine, vineyards, caves etc...from Germany in WWII and the sabotage the French Resistance used. Great book.
