lol...no one in their right mind (which describes the majority of his supporters) can believe that his first 100 days were anything other then a giant belly flop. The one thing he got done was put a conservative judge on the court.

Now that is worthy of a victory lap for those who think that was the single reason he got elected.

But legislative wise he has has been shut out.

His most important exec orders have been shut down by the courts.

And he failed to get Obamacare repealed.

I won't even get into his magical plan to defeat ISIS in 30 days which still hasn't begun.

This was the guy whining to the other day about how much harder being the president was then he thought.

yeah...no kidding.

There is absolutely no way for us to be able to identify either scenario in real time. Hell,
we can't fully evaluate the effectiveness of an entire presidency until at least 20 year after the fact. Anyone certain of either reality is either disenginuous or delusional

The face of the left is now antifa terrorists, trannies, and illegals who rape middle school girls.

To them that is a victory apparently.

I'd call this an objective analysis

That is just stupid.
While his legislative efforts are a project in work, they are in work nonetheless.

Meanwhile Trump has redirected the EPA to drop the AGW garbage and do its damn job. He has redirected NASA to drop the AGW garbage and do its damn job. He's put the deep state on notice. He may well yet pursue criminal charges against Lerner and other corrupt IRS officials. EO's you referenced as being blocked by partisan activist judges will be reinstated, depowering future judicial overreach.

On the international front, he is actually insisting our partners live up to their obligations. The fact for example that Germany has underfunded NATO for years is an obscenity. For the first time in my memory he's managed to maneuver a wedge between China and NoKo. He is pursuing fair trade agreements, and withdrawing from asinine multilateral agreements. Etc.

Calling his first 100 days a "bellyflop" is ridiculous.

So, the biggest Trump negatives from the leftists thus far:

quote:

Imagined problems on his tax returns.

Imagined blackmail by Russia.

Imagined poor performance based on imagining a control case of another imaginary president doing the same job at the same time, but doing it faster.

Imaginary belief that doing things you prefer he not do is similar to not being competent.

Imagined staff problems that are bigger than they are.

Imagined nuclear holocaust that happens because of Trump’s imaginary insanity.

Imagined problems caused by his ignoring of facts that don’t matter.

Imagined future climate calamity. (They could be right, but for now it is imaginary because complex models have a bad track record.)

I think Scott summed it up well

quote:

Economic confidence is up.

Trump signed a bunch of executive orders. You might not like them, but that’s more about you, not about his job performance.

China is putting the screws on North Korea (finally)

Trump erased the “puppet of Putin” charge by prudent application of Tomahawk missiles. That’s an accomplishment, even if you don’t like it.

Trump erased the “Trump is Hitler” hallucination that the Clinton side spray-painted onto him during the election. (That’s a big deal.)

Trump got a qualified Supreme Court judge, albeit the hard way.

Healthcare is moving along briskly from the first plan that was terrible to something that is approaching feasible. That’s progress, not failure.

Tax reform will probably be slower than we want, but most observers expect something good to come of it.

International relations look fine. The only awkward relationship is with Putin, and that’s the awkward relationship Trump’s detractors want.

Illegal immigration is way down because of Trump’s persuasion.

The 100 day thing was set up by FDR.

Trump is rewriting the books with a new standard that will make the 100 day thing a forgotten relic.

No legislation even on the horizon in the first 100 days.

His one push was replacing Obamacare...that has failed what 3 times now.

Those evil muslims continue to flock over the border...so goes that.

I mean, I could go on and on ...easily.

Considering he has delivered on exactly zero of his campaign promises (besides Gorsuch)... And you can't even blame the Democrats for holding him back. That's the truly sad part.

Look at the last few presidents. None of them achieved their major policy initiatives within 100 days of taking office. In order to call Trump's first 100 days a belly flop, you would have to hold him to a tougher standard than anyone else.

If we don't get healthcare reform by the 2018 midterms, I'll gladly call the first two years a belly flop. But I'm willing to give him a chance to find his bearings, and I hope he does. Our country can't afford to have three straight terrible administrations.
