YAF released a statement on Tuesday night, via Breitbart:

“When Young America’s Foundation confirmed Ann Coulter would speak at UC-Berkeley as part of YAF’s nationwide campus lecture program on April 27, we assumed UC Berkeley would take all steps necessary to ensure the safety of students attending the educational event,” the group declared in a blog post on Tuesday. “In the meantime we discovered that the University of California Police Department at Berkeley has an official ‘stand-down’ policy for any situation that develops on campus as long as the situation doesn’t involve the imminent loss of life, allowing the leftist thugs who have terrorized Berkeley’s campus to do so without consequence.”

So they have a policy that lets protesters do anything they want except kill someone? Sounds like a recipe for peaceful demonstrations.

I wonder if Coulter will go there anyway.

No... not when the invitation has been effectively pulled.

Not so fast.

Coulter said in an email late Tuesday night that she plans to arrive at Berkeley sometime after 6 p.m. on Thursday. She said she is still hopeful that Berkeley will provide “an appropriate room” for the event and that she is still unsure when and where she will speak. College Republicans had been discussing the possibility of Sproul Plaza for Coulter’s speech since the university canceled Thursday’s planned event and so far has declined to provide a venue for it on that day.

Sproul Plaza, site of the Free Speech Movement protests in the 1960s, would be both symbolic and logistically challenging for the university because anyone can be there.

This is why I chuckle when Progs say they don't support these actions.

Why do you keep electing officials who you know do? Why do you keep electing officials who use this rhetoric?

Yup. No different than "moderate" Muslims.

Every day through finals a conservative speaker needs to be trotted out. Make the administration's life hell. If they put up a fight, let them be buried by never ending lawsuits. I want Shapiro out there next week.

So basically they're getting paid, with benefits and a pension, for doing nothing. Just like politicians? Wait a minute!!..I thought they respond to claims of "hate speech", or "racism"? Where is the "eminent loss of life" there??

Someone should do a Southern States Adult Men's Softball tournament, offer a $1M prize for the winner and hold it near Berkeley.

A bunch of jack up truck baws with softball bats could get this problem cleaned up quickly.

how the antifa people can look in the mirror and think they're not facists at this point is mindboggling.

Berkeley cops are a bunch of Keystone Cops.

Yesterday, their Chief said they are avoiding having to use violence to stop any fights because there are innocent peaceful protesters standing just a few feet away from protesters who are fighting with Free Speech supporters and those peaceful protesters could get hurt if the cops have to use violence to stop the fighting.

Yeah, I agree with that. Berkeley should be besieged with Free Speech advocates . I'd go myself but I have to stay in Baton Rouge for the race riots this weekend. So many choices.

I agree but it's the only excuse they have.

If anyone gets injured or killed tomorrow or in future "protests" in Berkeley then the Keystone Cops of Berkeley will have blood on their hands for not doing their duty.
