8. Denver 3.5 games back 3 games remaining to be played
9. Portland 2.5 games back 1 game remaining
10. Dallas .5 games back 1 game remaining

maybe portland is biggest obstacle.

how does this roster stack up to Denver?

Current projections have the Pels finishing 35-47, so 5-6 down the last 11. Current trajectory with them winning 5 of their last 6 tells me they should go above .500 during the last 11. I'd say 6-5 to 7-4 is a reasonable guess. That would make them 14-11 since the Boogie trade, which is what a lot of us had guessed.

To be fair, so do the people that want to tank.

It's the whole "you can have one cookie now or if you are patient and wait, you can have three cookies later" idea.

Might not be correct but the logic being that a mini tank now could give you a top three pick that can either help put you on better footing long-term or be traded for something that would make you notably better off.

If they really want in playoffs they better make damn sure we beat Denver all 3 times we play them in the next few weeks.

Absolutely.

Though at this point I am more worried about Portland then Denver TBH. Portland is 7-3 in their last 10 games and have a pretty manageable schedule.

If we make the 8th seed do we go ahead and fire our coach again?

This is what's worrying me.

At that point, the Warriors could be in resting mode and the Lakers will have completely packed it in. But it's still a tough situation. I'm just happy that those games might have meaning and that I have some interest in following other teams and watching records this late in the season.

I think the thing a lot of people are missing about the potential playoff run is that to make it we'd have to be playing like a 60ish win team down the stretch. If we get to the point where the last week matters it means they've figured some things out and the league is in trouble.

i know we have @ Houston, @ Utah, and @ GSW left...

but think about this... don't know if Boogie's even been in the running this late in the season for the playoffs. he's definitely liable to play at a higher level and be motivated for it
