At this point in the season, it looks like St. John's (Ranked 16, NR, 17, and 9 in the polls listed so far) is going to be the "bell cow," or whatever you want to call it, for the northeast to get a regional host site.

This is misleading and you know it. The offense exploded on Friday and floundered on Saturday and Sunday, like he said.

People need to stop getting so offended just because someone points out the team didn't play great. It's actually a compliment to say they found ways to win despite not playing their best ball.

I agree with this, and here's why:

1. LSU batted a .537 in Friday's game, and scored 22 runs. They batted a whoping .190 the rest of the weekend, and only scored 12 runs.

2. Georgia was terrible. They hit 12 batters on the weekend, and walked 21. Georgia literally GAVE LSU 33 baserunners!!

3. Georgia batted a whoping .291, and still scored 15 runs. LSU only gave them 14 baserunners (10 BB, 4 HBP).

4. Georgia was Terrible.

Defensively, LSU played very well. Pitching was mostly suspect, and the batting was anemic against the WORST pitching staff in the SEC.

played error free defense for the 3 games.

Can I point out that with all the shite that is blamed on CPM that his teams consistently year end and year out play not good but great defense. Knowing that for the most part every time you go to the ballpark your team isn't going to beat themselves defensively is a very underrated quality

1 thru 4 in the BO is perhaps the best in the nation. 5 thru 8 has potential to be good and is very young with 3 freshmen. I love Poche, but his ERA will not be .25 at the end of the season. I pray Lange's ERA will be in the 3's like last year at the end of the season. he can throw a shutout at any time as witnessed from his first year, but he hasn't been the AA picture since then for whatever reason. Walker looks good so far. The Norman loss hurt, but the Newman loss is huge. The bullpen is shaky. Losing Bryce also hurt because he got on base on the regular.

Yes LSU swept UGA at home, but UGA will be hard pressed to win 8/9 SEC games. Bama is about the same at this point. UGA is not better than Maryland and maybe worse than Wichita St and UNO. Hell, Southeastern is probably the best team LSU has played since Houston.

You probably don't even see a connection between those.....

ETA: LSU's on-base average for the Saturday and Sunday games was .385.

The only thing that matters is that LSU won all 3 games this past weekend.

What connection is there to be seen? They didn't get hits when the at-bat counted.

They got on base. Not the same as not hitting worth a shite. They scored 34 runs...one more than the number of base runners they were GIFTED.

How many times was a batter up with bases loaded...and they got NOTHING??

Yeah, the HBP and BB numbers detracted from their total at-bats...but it doesn't matter. They still couldn't hit the ball Saturday and Sunday.

How are you gonna spin that any way but a negative?

Dude, they got HANDED 33 BASERUNNERS!! They batted ONE FREAKIN NINETY over 2 days.

Get out of here with that BS. They stunk at the plate Saturday and Sunday. I don't know how you can spin that, so please, explain to me how the walks and HBP mean diddly frickin squat when it comes to batting average.

I'll wait.

I guess what Russian is saying is that UGA's pitching was so f'ing wild that it was hard to hit. The hitters were almost as likely to be hit as to get a hit.

Further proof you don't understand baseball stats.

I don't give a damn what he's trying to say. He's trying to act like I don't know what I'm talking about when the stats are black and white. In the at-bats that counted towards batting average, they sucked. Plain and simple.

They hit over .500 in the first game, and then stunk all weekend. That is also the game that LSU got handed 13 baserunners, yet they still managed 22 hits.

So, again, how the hell does crappy pitching by UGA excuse the poor hitting Sat and Sun?

This is the only frickin forum that will try and justify shitty hitting with the opposing teams crapoy pitching. That makes no sense. Especially when they torched the crapoy pitching in game 1.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I was just trying to figure out what he was trying to say, but I don't know for sure.
