No NCAA tournament for 4 years at Florida St. Recruits a loaded roster and has a good year, blown out by 11 seed.

He is the poster boy for great recruiter, shitty coach.

Remember when he was on the hot seat around 2008? I thought he was toast then.

Real amazed there hasn't been any noticeable hot seat talk during this recent tourney drought.

He has an overall winning ACC record.

I guess expectations aren't that high at FSU

Who could they get to replace him?

It's FSU basketball. He's good enough. Basically has 1/3 of their tournament appearances. Won an ACC tourney. Has a Sweet 16. Not enough interest to push him out.

If I were the Florida State AD, I wouldn't even consider his job security an issue.

Though I think it was right to be a hot seat in the past. Just not now.

1 NCAA in 5 years. Same as Johnny Jones. Same as Trent Johnson.

They're 26-8 this year. Your thread is a year late.

I know. I really meant how was he not already fired.

But blown out by an 11 seed in your once per 5 year year NCAA appearance is weak and should put him on the hot seat.

surely you mean poster boy for basketball. Leslie has the lock down in football, even though he's technically not a coach at this moment.

LSU and FSU are both football schools obviously, but LSU has much more basketball tradition (ie I think cares more). I've been to games in Tallahassee. It's a very meh environment, which goes back to his recruiting classes are good to generate optimism and results are good enough. Regardless, he's 70, so he won't be around much longer.

Did not see the game today versus Xavier but on Thursday night, FSU looked dominant on the boards with all the tall timber they have in the lineup and the bench. I thought the Seminoles would have been a tougher out. They owned the paint on Thursday...even though it was FGCU

He must be likable. He's been consistently alright at some pretty good jobs for about 30 straight years.

He has like 7 Final 4s at 3 schools and a NC.

May not be Coach K w/ the Xs and Os, but he is at least above avg

After what LSU failed to do last year, I have a greater respect for Cal's coaching ability.

Calipari's in-game coaching reputation is overblown.

He's not an idiot on the bench.
