Zac Brown Band - New song - "My Old Man."

Two winters ago, Zac Brown Band kicked off the new year by releasing "Homegrown," the first single from their genre-jumping, pop-influenced Jekyll + Hyde. This week, they're returning to their roots with "My Old Man," an acoustic song that introduces the band's upcoming back-to-basics album, Welcome Home.
Produced by studio kingpin Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), "My Old Man" doubles down on the band's harmony-heavy vocals, which drive forward a scaled-back arrangement of unplugged guitar, fiddle and light strings. It's a sparse, solemn setting for the song, which finds Brown and company paying tribute to the fathers – many no longer living – who spent their adulthood providing, loving and living by example. "Now I finally understand; I have a lot to learn from my old man," goes a line in the chorus.

My dad was recently given a few months to live. That song is very emotional for me. Thanks for sharing it.

Sorry to hear that man. It's a touching song.
Not that I didn't like Jekyll + Hyde and his experimental songs, but it's nice to see Zac Brown Band going back to The Foundation and his earlier stuff.

John Prine's "My Old Man" is a great song.

Thanks. Had never heard that one before. It's a similar tune

Jackyl abd Hyde was definitely hit or miss. His rock stuff like "Heavy is the Head" and "Junkyard Man" were both awesome, but his edm crossover was cringeworthy. His Sinatra tribute "Under the Mango Tree" was actually pretty decent. It will be nice to see him back at his roots. More stuff like "Colder Weather" and "Sweet Annie" would be nice, but i'm not going to lie, I would love to see a full rock album with him and Cornell.

That's a touching song. I agree, his older stuff is a lot better

They are my favorite band and their old stuff is what lead me to being such a big fan. Jekyll and Hyde was a big letdown to me so I'm glad to see them returning to their roots. Hopefully the rest of the album lives up to My Old Man because I think it's a great song. Really hits home.

Thanks for posting.
Used to really like Zac Brown, but feel they got away from what made them successful over the last few years.
That said, this is a very good song. I lost my dad six (6) years ago this February 25th and this song hits home.
