Looking to get a registered German Shepherd for the fiancee' (no pics). I have only been familiar with labs for the majority of my life. Does anyone know or recommend any breeders?

I'll post the obligatory "check the shelters before buying from a breeder" response. Seriously though, their is a great GSD rescue group in So. LA that has no shortage of dogs. I got one of mine from there. Check it out. It would be worth your time.

You think labs shed, you ain't seen anything yet. I have a GS. Smartest dog I've ever had. That hair though.

There are great breeders in Dallas and Nashville. Not sure about Louisiana. Check out "German Shepards of Dallas" on fb. Edited with link.

I got my GSD from Greene's kennel in Ethel 5 years ago. Amazing and impressive dog, wonderful and gentle with my two year old and protective of "his people." But as others have said.....the hair....good grief the shedding hair. Haha

I have heard Schaferhund in Winnsboro is a good breeder as well.
