A radio station out of Madison (The Big 1070 am) reporting Wisconsin's payout is $3 million vs $2.5 million for LSU, I'm assuming a similar split was paid out in 2014. Not a bad haul at all. The Packers are doing the payouts and are receiving revenue from all ticket sales, parking, concessions and the Carmex sponsorship and surrounding business are profiting huge from the influx of LSU and to a lesser degree Badger fans (spending less since most drive up for the game and don't need hotels, spend less on food, etc.) They are surmising the Packers are clearing between $3-5 million- that's a nice chunk for an open weekend. Radio reports of lots of LSU fans not only in GB, Milwaukee and Madison but all over the state. Nice traveling fanbase, I witnessed LSU travel impressively in 2005 when Katrina forced the game to be switched form Baton Rouge to Tempe. Well done!

If that is correct then LSU will get paid 5.5 mil for two games over doing a home and home where you would get 3 mil or so for the home game and a significantly less payout going to Camp Randall. Neutral sites are here to stay as long as the payouts remain that large.

I have no doubt LSU fans spent over $400k at Whistling Straits alone over this week.

I bet the split was more for the game in Houston and Houston wants LSU in that game on a regular basis as well as the College baseball classic that LSU took over as well.

I made that trip from DC. Had a blast, too. Got a little warm, but the people were amazing, friendly, and not too hard on the eyes . . .
