The only place I have seen coupons require you to mention the coupon before ordering is Burger King.
Since it is impossible to downsize a whopper, I always assumed it was a programming problem with the register. If the clerk knows about the coupon before ordering, they punch a special key to tell the program to use special code to give you the second whopper for free.

Well I know when m and my wife went to Mansurs on the Blvd they had a completely separate menu for 225 eats customers and it was only like a fifth of the actual menu so idk how that would work if you told them at the end of the meal

I had a Groupon for Mr. John's a few years ago that required this. They sat you in a separate Groupon section. I quit buying Groupons after that.
