for a buddy , who is banned .. LOL
Back story
I did contract work in 2013 and 2014 of which I never showed in regular 1040 return. I recently received a cp2000 form saying I owe taxes from 2014 of which I in turn did a 1040x amended form and got what I owe down next to nothing, sent in the form with a money order. All done. With that being said, here is my question about my 2013...
I never got a letter(irs lady said she had no info on me from 2013) from irs about saying I owe taxes from extra contract work I've done... Shall I amend, pay the taxes or just forget about it? Seems like I should have gotten something just like I did for 2014.

In 2014 a Form 1099 was sent to the IRS, which is why you get the letter from IRS.
In 2013, if the IRS is saying there is no info about that amount, that means that a Form 1099 was not sent in to the IRS.
I will say this: You are taxed on all income earned, unless an exclusion applies. The fact that you did not receive a tax form 1099 or other form with the amounts paid to you, does not change the fact that you are required to report on your tax return all income earned, unless an exclusion applies.

it looks like you have an option to run a red light after coming to a full atop at 2am while buzzed. chances of being caught, low. consequences if caught, high.
