Public Relations / Marketing
Recruiting
Hiring and Delegating to Assistants
Fundamentals / Teaching
Strategy / Game Plan
Motivation
In-game Management (substitutions, adjustments, effective time-out usage)

JJ has what, maybe Recruiting and half a point on PR and Motivation.

So, 2 out of 7.

I'm sure there is someone else out there with at least 3 of the 7 or maybe even 4.

ETA: Of course, recruiting is the most important, so JJ does have that going for him.

Wait, you give Johnny half a point for PR and motivation? He's awful at both

I'm being kind and looking at the glass half-full.

Way more than Johnny, and I'm by no means a staunch Les defender.

I would rather a coach that can win with no name talent vs being embarrassed with a team full of talent

At least at some point in his tenure, he's had all of those qualities at various times. Not so much anymore, but still better than Jones.

Win, win, win, win, win, win, and win. Works every time.

I'd say motivation is his biggest weakness and probably more to do with his teams underachievements here than anything else.

And P.R. I actually wonder at times if he is purposefully trying to be as bland as he possibly can when he's interviewed, because I know his personality is better and more outgoing than his public persona.

Is Johnny Jones really that good of a recruiter? Ben Simmons fell in our lap due to his personal connection with a member of LSU's staff. Without Simmons we probably don't get Blakeney. What is the upcoming class looking like?

I keep hearing that Jones is a good recruiter but I'm not so sure how true that really is.
