I want to take my young son fishing/crabbing during the Mardi Gras break and I am looking for recommendations. I was going to head to the St Tammany Pier, but just saw that it was closed. Any ideas for this time of year would be appreciated.

Take him to Hwy between Fourchon and Grand Isle. You want catch anything on the Northshore. I fish 3 times a month probably and for the last two years I always bring home enough from hwy 1. The last 8 times I fished Slidell I might have caught a total of 5 fish.

It has been good for me every time I have been there the last two years. 15+ times. If you are not catching MOVE!
