Cox cable yea it sucks, Can I Make this box work?

So I received a cox DCX 3200 HD box from cox by mistake, FEDEX. Yes I am a customer and have 3 other of the same boxes. It did not come with a remote.
Dont know why they sent me this box, I did not request Its been 3 months and has not showed up on bill.
Q
Can I use it on another TV on low non HD channels and can I just buy a Cox remote for operation ?
Even tho I love to screw em Im just wondering If I can use it on another TV W/O registration or whatever ?

Man I have about 3 Cox remotes and I don't even have their cable service anymore

So I doubt seriously that you can hook it up and not be billed for it. What I suspect, is the box won't work unless it registers with the cox mainframe. They aren't going to turn it on without a billing address. The box and the mainframe must communicate. Years ago, you could buy boxes that allowed you to steal cable channels. Those days are gone. You can try it. You can always return it without any consequences.
