A lawyer in Shreveport fell for a Nigerian scam - he used his mother's lifetime savings and lost the money to one.

Who/when was that? Have not heard that story.

There was a Barksdale airman who fell for a Nigerian love scam and cashed some bogus money orders that relatives of the "girl" sent him for her airfare to come visit. He wired the cash to the scammer. Got indicted by the Feds. The dumbass thought it was real even after he was charged. Thankfully, the jury let him off the hook. He was guilty, but only of being stupid.
