Hard to go wrong in Napa, except for Napkins.

If you have time, try some raw and grilled oysters at Hog Island in Oxbow Market, with an ice cold Lagunitas IPA. You can sit outside if it isn't raining.

Mung...you been to Mustard's yet? That one has been on my hit list for a while but it's such a long drive to Napa and I'd pass so many other great joints on the way that it's been hard to justify.

I forgot about this one...check out Teatro ZinZanni if you have a chance. It's on Embarcadero...old Parisian circus tent...decent food and wine but it has an awesome Mystery Theater component. They get the audience involved. It would make for a great anniversary date.

Dam that oyster joint sounds good. I will be looking for a place to watch some football on Saturday.

the bar at Kitchen Door in Oxbow has a couple of TVs. Good beer selection, great wings, and excellent mushroom pizza. there are only about 10 chairs so don't show up too late.

Billco's has about 100 craft beers, several TVs, but the food is average.

What about the wharf area

The only place I would go around Fisherman's Wharf is Cod Mother's food truck. Then check out Musee Mecanique...that place is a gem hidden in all the touristy garbage.

On that note, Marrakesh Magic Theater is great as well. It's in the Tenderloin, so a lot of tourists seem to stay away from it.

Plus, you can always drop the line, "If you think this magic is exciting, wait until we get back to the hotel!"...then when you get back to the hotel, show her your best card trick.

Mustard's

Yes, definitely worth it. I went with a big group and we tried every app, then shared several plates. faves were ahi tuna crackers, calamari, crab cakes, pork chop and hanger steak. drank so much wine had to call Uber.

I had dinner at a Burmese restaurant outside of San Francisco and one of the things I tried was tea leaf salad. It was really memorable and delicious. Find a highly recommended Burmese restaurant and give it a try.

lolinda in the mission district...it's a steakhouse, but also has some pretty great tapas...we actually enjoyed it so much the first time, we went a second time on the same trip...only bad thing is that it can be kind of loud.

Don't care about price?

Go to the French Laundry. I went in May with my girlfriend and it was an experience I'll remember the rest of my life.

Super difficult to get a reservation at French Laundry, but worth it.

Keller has a pop up nearby called Ad Hoc that makes a great lunch.

I posted this a few months back but here it is again

We stayed at the Westin St. Francis On Union Square and it was a great hotel.

Just a few short blocks away we ate at Sears Fine Foods and it was a fair priced and tasty start to the day.

One night we for dinner we ate at John's Grill and I would say this is a must. Tons of cool memorabilia on the walls from San Francisco over the years and the steaks were damn good. Make a reservation for sure since it's not that big of a place and a popular eatery.

We also ate a few meals across the bay in Saulsalito. Can't recall the name of the restaurant right on the water but it had incredible views of the bay, San Fran skyline and Golden Gate for sunset. Definitely recommend making the trip one afternoon.
