I don't think Walter white created the virus. Just saying they could coexist and the drug use (sharing needles and other nasty things junkies do) is the spread.

I think it's something to do with water.
Water is the one thing we all need and consume, something could have mutated a long the way to where it doesn't cause a flu by the time it's in you, etc.
And I say virus because it is probably the "most similar" to rabies. The way it effects a brain, the biting and spreading.(If rabies mutated and became airborne..it would change a LOT of things)
But since now the whole world has it in a month or two and, I'm putting it on the common denominator which is with water.

Kinda like the brain eating amoeba found in the New Orleans and Houston area water supplies in recent years...
