Theory Time: Groot and aliens from Fire in the Sky are from the same planet!

This guy from Gaurdians of the Galaxy 
Bares and uncanny resemblance to the aliens in Fire in the Sky.
Groot hails from Planet X. Not much is explained about Planet X other than Groot is a species of Flora colossi from there.
It is my hypothesis that the aliens from Fire in the Sky are from the same planet. They are the tech-minded and can speak and communicate with each other much better than the mono-phrasal Flora colossi. These visit Earth to scout out what it is about in Fire in the Sky.
They wanted to start with something familiar with Earth and Planet X and work from there. Why of all placed do you think they started in a place with TREES?! The lumberjacks were just the only intelligent living beings they found in the forest after they realized the trees were not conscious.

I mean. except that one is literally a tree.
But not a bad theory though.
