Anyone on the OB ever setup a trolling motor on their pirogue?

I'm thinking about doing it to get me to some of my deer spots and maybe further away from the duck hunters during duck season. Spot where I hunt doesn't allow any gas engines so electric is my only option besides paddling around a mile or more.

I have a pirogue already so I'm trying to not have to buy a flat back pirogue. Wondering how it will track (if it will go straight) being on a pirogue and if it can power me through some wind.

Not sure about a pirogue, but I have a 36# thrust on my kayak and it works just fine in the wind.

Do you have to register it in LA if you do so? I know you must in Arky.

I'm going to make a bracket and far back. Similar to what I've seen done with canoes and trolling motors.

Put you a hundred horsepower great white trolling motor on there and then put a 36 volt battery up in the front get on top.

Yes you do.

All you need is a 2x4 and a couple screws to mount it and as mentioned put it as far back as possible. Also, get a piece of PVC pipe that fits over the handle to control it and you can sit a closer to the center for a better ride.

hundred horsepower

That may be a little overkill.

That's kinda what I was thinking.
