Woman jailed after calling 911 to complain about boyfriend

Gina Marie Sangastiano, 39, of Jupiter, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly calling 911 multiple times the past two weeks to complain about her boyfriend. None of the calls were emergencies and Sangastiano was repeatedly warned about misusing the 911 system, according to a probable-cause arrest affidavit made public Wednesday.

Her arrest came after officers went to a Tequesta apartment Tuesday in reference to a civil matter. Sangastiano reportedly told an officer that her ex-boyfriend was using his father’s name for traffic court.

She provided traffic court subpoenas from 2010. Dispatchers advised that Sangastiano called 911 despite being provided with the police department’s non-emergency phone number.

She pulled away as officers attempted to arrest her, but she was eventually taken into custody. Sangastiano faces charges of misuse of the 911 system and resisting arrest without violence.
