I picked up and have been playing NHL 12, and its such a nice change of pace on sports games for me, I really have enjoyed playing it. Is NHL 15 a good game?

If you're on xbone you can get sign up for the EA vault for 5 bucks a month and download NHL for free. But other than that it's a pretty good game.

I know when it first came out it was an absolute disgrace to be called a "completed game".

You couldn't quick-sim being on the bench in the be-a-pro mode which took a HUGE step back from last year's "Live the Life" be-a-pro mode.

I know you also couldn't draft your own players in the be-a-gm mode.

I have no clue if they've fixed any of that, but when they released it like they did, about half-way completed, I told myself I would never buy that game again. The reviews for it are VERY bad compared to past years so be wary.

Or pay 30 bucks for the year

It depends. I enjoyed it because I'm big into HUT and I've logged a ton of hours into it.

Franchise mode isn't that great and isn't immersive. Be A Pro might as well not even be on the game. They also took away online team play and shootout mode.

No, I regret spending 60 bucks for it

It looks awesome, and the gameplay isn't bad imo but it's an incomplete game, and a slap in the face to many NHL game fans. The inability to sim while on the bench in pro mode is absolutely infuriating, and I haven't played in that mode since the day i bought the game

I'd hold and wait for 16. Hopefully the developers will put forth more than a half assed effort

Gameplay is pretty terrible. Definitely wouldn't buy it until 16 this September or it may sour you on it.

16 will actually be the full game and have a lot of improvements across the board.

Are they bringing back virtual pro and team play?

I got it with EA Access, and I've been obsessed with FUT (Godmode at it), MUT, and MyTEAM on 2K15. I'm not very good at the game yet, but would it be worth my time getting into HUT anyway? Half of the fun to me is just building and theorycrafting good lineups of different types.

If you like FUT and MUT then you'll like HUT. It's my favorite of all the ultimate teams but probably because it's the one I'm the best at.
