While discussing driving (AKA SpinOff) - 4 Way Stops

4 way stops are NOT trigonometry folks.
You get there first, you go before the other guy. It's a tie? Car to the right goes.
Bunch of cars waiting? We all take turns in pairs. You and the car across from you go. Then the other pair goes and so on.
If I win the lottery, first thing I am doing is running PSA TV ads on this and blinking yellow and red lights at intersections.
BTW, for anyone who drives by OLOL, the lines on the road by the hospital are crosswalks. They don't mean you have to stop and stare dumbly at the cars on the cross streets who have stop signs. Dumbasses.

So when I turn right and the guy across from me turns left and we wreck, I'll tell the police officer you said it was the right thing to do and go on my way?

Never heard that one. I'm trying to make a left hand turn and the guy across from me goes when I go.

You don't drive INTO him if you are turning but opposing cars take their turn at the same time. This just proves that people don't know how to work a four way stop. You would start out into the intersection and turn once he either goes straight, makes his right or also makes a left passing to your right.

You're provjng your own point. You've made up your own rule about how it's supposed to work, and your way would easily lead to crashes. Great thread though.

This is awesome. By the way, the NHTSA.gov website covers this but it is apparent that people are receiving different drivers training. I blame that Mother's Driving Academy off of Drusilla.
They are the same ones who train to leave a minimum of a full car length between you and the car ahead at stop lights leading to getting about three cars in a turn lane during high traffic.
