All in all Jones established the right game plan and really did well strategically. We hit UK with several set plays (alley-oops) that they weren't expecting at all. The team played decent defense and the game planning allowed the players to hide Darcy Malone in the second part of the first half. Jones did many things well and the players for 90% of the game executed tremendously. Did Gray take some knucklehead shots? Yes. Did we have lapses on defense? Yes? Were we unable to close out the game against one of the best NCAA teams of all time? Yes.

Does this reflect poorly on Jones? Not in the least. Sure he made some bad decisions (the 5 second timeout comes to mind), but either way that possession was not going to lead to a bucket. But think about this, we did extremely well against UK in the paint ( a team that so far this year allowed only 20ish points in the painted area) and nailed big 3s when we need them. We played blow for blow with UK, a team that had been running teams out of the gym for the last 5 games.

It's easy to nitpick the coaching and point to a bad decisions but to point to this game as why Jones is a mediocre coach is asinine.

If Quarterman gives us anything on offense we beat them, he had a bad shooting game.
