I am curious to know if there is any way that an individual record could be lost in a state licensing system.

Previously posted to TechBoard...no response.

In August I purchased a TX Hunting License in Killeen TX. I lost it but knew the record should still be there if needed. While on a hog hunt I encounter MR. Green Jeans. He asks to see my license and I explain the loss. I also explain that I had attempted to get a replacement from the only place within an hours drive that sells licenses. The machine was broke. He looks it up in the system but finds no record. Of course I get a ticket for no license.

When I made the purchase they swiped my license into the system, printed my copy, and met me at the register to pay. I left thinking all is well.

What are the odds and how could the information be lost? Any thoughts? Thanks for any help?

Any chance you purchased the 13-14 season rather than 14-15? My license goes through the end of August.
