What are chances with this guy? Seems like a good one especially after today. Thoughts?

When we hired Chavis, he was a guy whose name kept popping up.
The word then was that the defense was actually Patterson's.

Sure in a package deal with Patterson. Time to buy out Les and go get Patterson and whatever coordinators he wants.
If TCU can do what they are doing with the level of talent they have, what could they do with LSU caliber talent?

A head coach can only do so much to run a defense. In the end, guys like Muschamp and Smart had to run the Saban defenses, for example. One would assume LSU can pay a guy like Bumpus more money than TCU to prove he can do it on his own.
That said, TCU gave up 61 points to Baylor this year. LSU needs a guy with a great track record versus HUNH offenses.

Why would Dick Bumpus come to this hot mess, when he's got a great defense at TCU, and offense. They have it easier in big 12 and are starting to get attention of better recruits.

To coach a defense loaded with talent while receiving full credit for its success? Doing so in the nation's best conference for a higher salary? I'm sure you can grasp all of that.
