to division winner that does not earn it.
Not all of the Browns, bengals, steelers or ravens will make playoffs but Falcons or Saints will and secure a home game at that.

Will most likely happen soon once an NFC south team gets in over another team like SF. They'll whine and complain about it until the NFL changes it.
However, when we went to a 7-9 Seattle team in 2010, that was ok.

I don't disagree. That screwed us in 2010 with Seattle hosting us. It has always been a bit ludicrous that a losing team can host a winning team in the playoffs.

Id rather just get rid of divisions totally. play a random 16 teams every year.

You can't change the rules just because it doesn't benefit someone in a given year.
This will be only the 2nd time since the merger a team will win the division with less than a .500 record. That's certainly no reason to change anything.
If you win your division, you deserve a home playoff game. Simple as that.

Totally agree. Divisions in NFL are dumb with 4 teams.

All the NFL needs to do is change the seeding policy. It's nothing drastic.

No you don't. A 7-9 team has no business hosting an 11-5 team. It's simply ludicrous.

this.
divisions should mean something. if you got rid of divisions completely, rivalries would fizzle out. some of the best games every year are the saints-falcons because of the long running rivalry in a division.

This stupid fricking thread get posted every time a team with a poor record is in contention for a division title. Each time it is posted it is just as fricking stupid as the last.

A 7-9 team seeded ahead of an 11-5 team is stupid. It's just insane.

If the Saints or Falcons lose, I doubt there will be a rules change. But if by some stroke of luck it's the Saints and they wake up for a game and light up the scoreboard (something very possible), then, yes, I fully expect Goodell to alter things so it can't happen again.

You sure about that?
